Charleston Wedding Band: “FlipSide”

FlipSide is a cool little trio consisting of Sherry Pedersen (keyboard/bass and vocals) , Mike Grenier (drums and vocals) and Jim Gilliam (guitar and vocals). These three seasoned musicians have joined together to create a nice, compact dance band that many music lovers and dancers are enjoying.

Here are their brief bios...

Sherry

Sherry Lynn grew up in Wisconsin where she started playing music at age 9. She played percussion in the high school band. She toured with musical troupe, the Kids From Wisconsin, which performed on center stage at the Wis State Fair. Later, Sherry traveled with her trio throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Florida performing for State fairs, & major hotel chains. The Sherry Lynn Trio performed 3 summers at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Mich.
While Sherry's husband was in the Air Force, their family lived in Germany where she played music with various bands. Her husband was later stationed at Charleston AFB. The family loved this area a decided to stay. They've lived in Summerville since 1987.
Sherry Lynn was musical director & performer for Clay Rice's Low Country Legends music show 2 years in Charleston; the she was music director & performer for Sherry Grace's Rock n Roll Heaven shows in Charleston.
Sherry's group, The MusicCatz band played music around the Low Country for the past 20 yrs. They were the featured band at the Woodlands Resort every New Years Eve for 11 years.
Sherry Lynn recently teamed up with Mike and Jim to form "FlipSide"; a great little trio of exceptional musicians! You wont be disappointed when you hear them! Exciting combination of Jazz, rock n roll, standards, Beach, & blues!

Mike

South Carolina’s Mike Grenier Is a seasoned drummer and singer. Influenced by the golden age of Rock’n’Roll. Mike has a long background as both an on-air radio DJ and drummer for over 40 years. He has performed in countless Rock, Blues, Beach Music, Country, and Oldies bands all along the east coast, citing his greatest influences as Delbert McClinton, The Beatles, Elvis, The Drifters, and Van Morrison to name a few.

“There is little I enjoy more than getting on stage, playing some great tunes and watching the crowd grooving to the music.” Mike gets to do that often with the band: “FlipSide”. Long live Rock’n’Roll !

Jim

Jim hails from Texas originally, cutting his musical teeth on Texas Blues, Western Swing, Honky Tonk, Jazz and Country. He began playing professionally in the 60's and has enjoyed a nice musical career all these years. Having recently located to the lovely South Carolina Lowcounry he met Sherry and Mike during a jam session where they hit it off and decided to start a new band, FlipSide. Hope you like it!
