Inside Ibiza’s Most Coveted Weddings: An Exclusive Interview with the Team Behind Bliss Ibiza Wedding Planner

We sat down with Edyta Kroliczek, founder of Bliss Ibiza Wedding Planner, and her colleague Alexandra to discover what it really takes to create an unforgettable Ibiza wedding.
There’s something undeniably magnetic about Ibiza. Beyond its reputation as a party destination lies an island of extraordinary natural beauty, where pine-covered hillsides tumble down to crystalline waters and the golden light of the Mediterranean sunset transforms everything it touches. It’s no wonder that couples from around the world are choosing this Balearic gem as the backdrop for their most important day.
Few people understand the art of planning a wedding in Ibiza better than Edyta Kroliczek and her team at Bliss Ibiza Wedding Planner. Having orchestrated countless celebrations on the island, they’ve become the go-to experts for couples seeking a luxury Ibiza wedding as they offer the experience that goes beyond the ordinary.
We caught up with Edyta and her colleague Alexandra at Six Senses terrace where they plan many weddings to talk about what makes an Ibiza wedding truly special.
The magic of Ibiza
What draws couples to Ibiza for their wedding day?
Edyta: Ibiza offers something you simply cannot replicate anywhere else. There’s an energy here, a sense of freedom and celebration that’s woven into the very fabric of the island. Couples come here because they want their wedding to feel like an experience, not just an event. They want their guests to remember not just the ceremony, but the entire journey — the sunsets, the long dinners under the stars, the impromptu dancing until dawn.
Alexandra: And practically speaking, Ibiza is incredibly accessible. You can fly here from most European cities in two to three hours. For couples with international guest lists, that’s a huge advantage. We work with many couples from the UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and the Netherlands who appreciate that their guests can arrive easily without the exhaustion of long-haul travel. Ibiza also attracts many US clients due to the fact that the island has something to offer for everyone and it’s easily accessible.
Finding the perfect setting

An Ibiza wedding venue can range from beachfront restaurants, luxury resorts, luxury villas to historic fincas. How do you help couples navigate these choices?
Edyta: This is where deep local knowledge becomes invaluable. There are the well-known venues, of course, but there are also hidden treasures that only someone who has the local contacts and lives and breathes Ibiza would know about. We spend a lot of time understanding what each couple truly wants — not just the aesthetics, but the feeling they want to create.
Alexandra: We always ask about the atmosphere they’re envisioning. Do they want to be in a traditional setting with a romantic feel or move more towards crazy entertainment? Sleek and sophisticated? A wild party or an intimate gathering? An Ibiza wedding villa might be perfect for one couple who wants exclusivity and privacy, while another might dream of an Ibiza sea view wedding at a venue perched on the cliffs. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
Edyta: We also consider the practical elements that couples might not think about initially. How will the venue work as the light changes throughout the day? What are the music and noise restrictions? Where will guests naturally congregate? Is there space for a band or DJ to set up properly? These details matter enormously when you’re creating an experience that flows seamlessly from afternoon ceremony to late-night celebration.
The Rise of Ibiza Villa Weddings
Ibiza wedding villas seem increasingly popular. Why is that?
Alexandra: There’s been a definite shift toward private villa celebrations, especially since 2020. Couples love the idea of having a space that’s entirely theirs for the weekend or longer. We usually plan a three-day experience with the welcome night in another location to keep the wedding villa as a surprise, the ceremony and reception all in one location, and then a recovery brunch the next morning without ever having to leave.
Edyta: Villa weddings also allow for incredible personalisation. When you have exclusive use of a property, you can truly transform it. We’ve worked with couples for whom we’ve brought in custom installations, created themed areas throughout the grounds, even bespoke furniture pieces. The villa becomes a blank canvas for their vision and can really feel like the wedding is theirs!
What should couples consider when choosing an Ibiza wedding villa?
Edyta: Capacity is crucial, and the music restrictions. Many couples want their closest friends and family to stay on-site. We always look at bedroom configurations, outdoor spaces, and whether the layout will work for the flow of the day. We also need to think about the design of the day — is the party outside or maybe inside in a cool cave or crazy club, or do we turn a basement or a living room into a club? Can we have a band and until when? All those questions come directly to us when planning a wedding.
Alexandra: The architecture, views and surroundings are important too. So many beautiful wedding photos happen around the property, and of course the view for the ceremony, aperitif and dinner is the backdrop of the photos. We also check practical elements like kitchen facilities for catering teams, power supply for lighting and sound, and access for delivery vehicles — however, we can manage even the most difficult situations.
Creating unforgettable moments

What sets a truly memorable Ibiza wedding apart from an ordinary destination wedding?
Edyta: Authenticity. The weddings that stay with you are the ones that feel genuinely like the couple getting married. We once worked with a pair who were both marine biologists. Instead of a traditional guest book, we had guests write messages on ceramic tiles that were later installed in a marine conservation area. Moments like that create lasting meaning.
Alexandra: I think it’s also about embracing Ibiza’s spirit rather than fighting against it. This island has a beautiful laid-back energy. When couples lean into that — allowing for spontaneity, creating spaces where guests can relax and connect — the whole event feels elevated.
Edyta: And never underestimate the power of an Ibiza sunset. We always set up a timeline based on that (of course taking care of music restrictions) as you want to make the best of the golden hour. There’s something almost transcendent about those couple photos when the sun melts into the Mediterranean. No amount of décor can compete with that natural drama.
Practical wisdom for planning a wedding in Ibiza
What advice would you give to couples just starting to plan their Ibiza wedding?
Alexandra: Start early. The best venues book up eight to eighteen months in advance, especially for peak season dates between May and October. If you have your heart set on a particular location, you need to secure it quickly.
Edyta: And visit the island before making major decisions. Photos and videos can only tell you so much. You need to feel the energy of a space, understand the views, experience the journey your guests will take to get there. We always encourage couples to come for a planning trip where we can show them multiple options in person. That’s why we start the planning with the Ibiza wedding venue scouting.
What are the most common mistakes you see couples make when planning a wedding in Ibiza?
Edyta: Booking your venue before understanding how you wish your wedding to be! Therefore we always speak to couples first before recommending venues, as you cannot know what venue is good if you don’t even know what wedding atmosphere you want.
Alexandra: Underestimating logistics. Ibiza is an island, which means everything needs to be shipped in or sourced locally. Working with someone who has established relationships with local suppliers makes an enormous difference to both quality and cost.
Edyta: Another common mistake is trying to recreate something they’ve seen elsewhere rather than embracing what makes Ibiza special and their personalities. Some couples arrive with a very fixed vision based on a wedding they attended in Tuscany or saw on social media. We gently guide them toward ideas that will work better with Ibiza’s unique character and add the personal touches that feel like their wedding.
Alexandra: And not building in enough time for guests to enjoy the island. An Ibiza wedding should be more than just one day. The couples who create multi-day celebrations — with welcome dinners, boat trips, beach days — give their guests an experience that bonds everyone together.
The future of Ibiza weddings
How do you see Ibiza weddings evolving in the coming years?
Edyta: Attention to details and excitement. People really now want to live the wedding like the best experience ever for them and their guests. Now weddings are an explosion of fresh ideas and personalised touches that make the wedding day memorable.
Alexandra: There’s also a move toward more intimate celebrations around 100-150 guests. Rather than large guest lists, couples are choosing to invite fewer people and invest more deeply in the experience. A three-day celebration with fifty guests can be more meaningful than a single evening with three hundred guests.
Edyta: What remains constant is the desire for something extraordinary. Couples choose Ibiza because they want magic, and this island never fails to deliver. After all these years, I still feel a thrill when I watch the sun set over the sea during a ceremony. That’s the privilege of what we do — helping people create the most beautiful day of their lives in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
