White or Colored shoes? Tips for Choosing Your Wedding Day Shoes

Although shoes are typically hidden under the dress, bear in mind that they will be your support on your wedding day.  You will be doing everything white wearing your wedding shoes walking, posing for pictures, sprinting, and even standing still during the service. For the reception, however, you have the option of getting bridal shoes for dancing.

Bridal shoes can be chosen in a variety of ways, based on the dress, venue, couple, time of year, and other factors.  This post will provide you with a variety of useful

recommendations to help you select the perfect bridal shoes.

Comfort, Personality, and Quality

Comfort, personality, and quality, are the three essential components that determine the type of wedding shoes to buy. Comfort is essential on your wedding day. You must select footwear that allows you to remain comfortable throughout the day.

Finding the best balance between the most comfortable shoes and the perfect bridal shoes is ideal. You should feel comfortable wearing the shoes; if not, disregard them, regardless of how lovely they are.Avoid shoes that are too tight or too loose by selecting the appropriate size.

Quality affects comfort as well, so look for shoes with leather or other natural, flexible materials (particularly the interior).

When it comes to personality, it’s obvious that they must reflect your particular style. For example, if you’ve never worn heels before, skip the stilettos and instead go for flat shoes with a low or medium heel, chunky heels, or platform.

White or colored wedding shoes?

Colored shoes are becoming more and more popular among brides, but frequently for the wrong reasons. There is a popular belief that if you choose white shoes for your wedding, you will never get a chance to wear them again.

This is the main factor for the popularity of colored bridal shoes.  However, that’s not true. When you go out, don’t you wear white shoes or Converse?  You’re totally mistaken if you think white doesn’t match with anything. It’s a beautiful color, especially for winter and some summer outfits.

However, a great tip when choosing white bridal shoes is to pick  the right materials.  For instance, it will be more difficult to reuse satin or lace, while leather shoes will be a year-round accessory.

Choose a white, off-white, ivory, or nude bridal shoe if your wedding is classic and you want to match the dress, you are a modest bride, or you want to add a unique touch without going overboard.

If you’re a daring bride, choose a bright wedding shoe that will suit your spouse, the theme, the décor, the dress, and other elements. Color is fun, but don’t make your wedding resemble a circus (unless that’s your theme).

The Dress

The saying “choose your wedding dress first, then your shoes” is certainly familiar to you.  Most of the time, the dress’s cut, material, style, length, and other details will determine your footwear.  Here are some guidelines for matching your type of wedding dress with the right shoe.

Princess-style wedding dress: Princess-style gowns are fantastic since they may be worn with any type of shoe. Choose comfortable shoes that are appropriate for the dress’s fabrics and embellishments, as well as the wedding in general.

Simple wedding dress: If your wedding gown is a simple one, your wedding shoes should also be simple. However, they can also be fun shoes! Choose basic or minimally embellished stilettos, sandals, or pumps. You may also add a unique touch by incorporating some or all of the color into your wedding shoes.

• Short wedding dresses: With these dresses, it’s crucial to accentuate your shoes, so choose medium or high heels to stylize your legs. It’s a good idea to select a unique style, such as jeweled, metallic, or colored.

• Mermaid wedding dress: Choose shoes that allow for good mobility. Because the dress’s design already limits its wearability, choose comfy and stylish shoes.

Greek and Roman wedding dresses: If you know a bit about  ancient Greek and Roman culture, sandals were the most popular shoes worn. Choose from strappy, minimalist, and basic sandals, or distinctive yet stylish sandals. Platform shoes are ideal for those seeking comfort.

You also have to consider the materials when choosing both the dress and the shoes.

Lace dresses: If your wedding dress includes a lot of lace, get simple shoes. If it has lace on the top or center, your shoes can be made of the same material or have touches of it, but if it’s on the bottom, don’t go overboard. If your wedding dress lacks lace adornment, it makes little sense to add it to your shoes.

Sheer dresses with nude undertones: These have recently become quite trendy and can be found in every collection. Nude-colored shoes look fantastic with these outfits since they match the style.

• Plain dresses: Here, you may pick between minimalism and adding a unique touch to the shoes, but without going crazy or overpowering the style.

Rhinestone dresses: If your dress is adorned with a large number of rhinestones, keep it simple by selecting something modest, a metallic material, or a little sparkly decoration. If your dress has a shining element and you want your shoes to stand out, choose shoes with embellishments or glittering materials.

• Tulle dresses: Tulle can catch on shoe embellishments or materials such as heavy glitter. If your dress includes tulle on the inside, you should prevent snagging fabrics and items. You may also avoid this by wearing a petticoat (without tulle).

Time of year

This may seem like one of the most insignificant and unimportant parts of buying bridal shoes, especially nowadays, but it is something you should consider.

Open-toed bridal shoes are often used for summer weddings, whereas closed-toe shoes are preferred for winter weddings. However, some brides now wear sandals when it’s chilly, so it’s up to you. For example, velvet sandals look excellent in the winter.

If you are being married in a grassy yard, in a rainy location, or during the rainy season, avoid suede and textile materials since they will become wet, damp, unpleasant, and difficult to clean. If you’re being married on a plot of dry, loose soil, don’t choose these materials since they’ll discolor quickly.

Leather is an ideal material for any terrain and occasion since it is simple to clean and better protects the foot in the event of dampness.
