Fall Delicacies for an October Wedding

Can you believe that October is right around the corner? It’s time to put away the summer clothes and bring out the longs sleeves. It honestly amazes me how fast this year is going by. Now, I don’t know how many of you agree with me, but October is such a fun month! I mean, you have the ability to dress up as whoever you want for a night and get a good scare throughout the month. There are also many things going on as well: Haunted Houses, Halloween parties, hay rides, corn mazes, pumpkin picking and so on. And I can’t leave out all of the adorable costumes the young ones are going to be wearing! Last year, my 5 year old cousin dressed up as Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and he was definitely the cutest little boy I had ever taken trick or treating! But enough of my rambling, this article isn’t about costumes or the events going on in October. Here are some ideas about fall delicacies you can serve at your wedding:

Pumpkin Seeds

There are so many things you can do with pumpkin! Need a treat for the table as your guests are waiting for the main course? A simple treat to leave at the tables is a bowl of oven baked pumpkin seeds. I have seen too many fatalities, where people carve pumpkins and throw away the edible seeds! Be a hero this October and rescue the forgotten delights! There are so many recipes you can find online for pumpkin seeds, and think about it: How many people have actually served pumpkin seeds at their wedding? To think, you could be the one and only person to have ever thought about this unique idea!

Pumpkin Spice

Are you crazy about pumpkin spice drinks? If your personality screams pumpkin spice, then why not be creative and make it your signature mix drink? There are so many pumpkin spice drinks you can create. For example, you can go in the direction of a warm, pumpkin latte or a creamy, pumpkin spice RumChata martini. Either way, whichever drink you incorporate into your cocktail hour, make sure you also incorporate a delicious, bite-sized pumpkin pie! You can easily make bite-sized pumpkin pies by using a miniature cupcake pan. Make sure to research recipes and try making them on your own before serving at your wedding. You never know which recipe will be the best spice of your wedding night!

CANDY!

It wouldn’t be an October wedding without candy. Candy can easily be incorporated into your wedding. Here are a few ideas: One, you can have a bowl of candy corn and/or pumpkins on each table. Candy corn will always be the first image of October for many, so having this simple, tasty treat will give your wedding the October feel. Another thing you can do with candy is making it your wedding favor and personalizing the wrappers to fit your theme. We have table food, and we have wedding favors, now we’re only forgetting the dessert table.

Having a candy dessert table is such an easy and fun way to make the night a little sweeter. If you want to give your guests a little Halloween fun, then why not provide personalized take home bags so your guests can “trick or treat” like they’re kids again take home a sweet treat for later!

There are so many fall delicacies you can incorporate into your October wedding, so hopefully this article gave you a little jump start to the possibilities. Happy Planning! 🙂
