How To Thoroughly Entertain (And Surprise) Your Wedding Guests
Guests love going to weddings to support the couple, eat delicious food, and dance to music.
But keeping them royally entertained for the entire duration of the event is perennially challenging.
Fortunately, this post has some guidance. We look at some of the techniques you can use to entertain your wedding guests, no matter how long you’re at the venue.
Hire Live Entertainment
The most obvious way to entertain your guests is to hire some quality live entertainment. DJs, magicians, and bands can all keep them busy while you do the paperwork and get your photos taken.
If you’re feeling more adventurous, you could hire someone to do a set. For example, you might invite a comedian to appear at your wedding to give all the guests a good laugh or use a mentalist to spook them (showing them insights into their deepest, darkest thoughts!)
Add Table Games
Depending on who you’re inviting, you might also want to add some table games to the venue. These can be an excellent way to bring everyone together and get people talking. They’re a real icebreaker.
Good options include pool tables, table football, and air hockey. Don’t worry if you don’t own these sets yourself – you can usually hire them at the last minute.
Provide Stunning Views
Whether you have a beach, church, or lakefront wedding venue, providing guests with stunning views is another way to surprise them. Giving them a taste of the unexpected can elevate the entire occasion.
Therefore, always look for a venue that offers something unique or a little different. Don’t reveal everything to guests in the invitation. Instead, get them to experience the surprise when they arrive.
Offer Welcome Bags
Another nice touch to entertain your guests is to provide them with welcome bags. Putting various items into these gives them something to fiddle with when nothing else is going on. Good things to put inside include sunglasses, small plastic bottles of drink, sweet treats, directions, and itineraries. You can also provide them with small gifts as a token of your appreciation.
Add Themed Elements
Themed elements can also make your wedding fun by giving people the opportunity to dress up. Allowing them to showcase their wild side can be an excellent way to get them more into the spirit of the event.
Themed weddings can take various forms, so choose one that suits you and the groom#. It could be historical, sci-fi, or based on your favorite TV show. It doesn’t matter!
Arrange A Flash Mob
Finally, you can sometimes entertain guests by inviting everyone to join a flash mob where they all dance together in a specific style. The key to this is to arrange it with a few guests beforehand and show them the dance moves to pull once the music starts. Then, when everyone else sees what’s happening, they’ll want to join in.
Flash mobs are enormously fun and a great way to get everyone to feel a part of the wedding. It’s also an icebreaker because you need to be a little mad to do it.
